A while back, I removed the ability to download the Fishbones novel because it was being spread around on certain websites without credit/permission. Since then, I have occasionally e-mailed the file to those who asked nicely, but on the whole it has been unavailable. I continue to receive emails asking for the file, but have been so overwhelmed that I've been unable to respond to them.
But, I know some of you have a genuine interest in the book, especially after having read the comic. I've decided to offer the book up for download once again under these conditions.
- You can name your price. This means you can pay whatever you see fit, as low as one cent. If you would like to support me or are feeling generous, any amount would be greatly appreciated.
- I can't police the sharing of this file, though it would also be appreciated if you did not post it in its entirely on other websites, especially not without credit.
[Sorry, download removed!]
After your transaction is completed, you must click on this button to get the download.
If you are new to Fishbones, it began as a novel on Livejournal, which was posted one chapter at a time. After its completion, I teamed up with Yuki to turn it into a webcomic, which is still currently being updated. It's a story about some boys, their friendship, the mafia, and probably has too many homosexual undertones.
Once you pay, you will be taken to a site with both a DOC and PDF version of the novel. The book is 403 pages and over 169,000 words. Much of the comic matches the novel word-for-word, but there are many scenes and conversations which have been cut for timing issues. There are also several concepts and plots that I intend to change or remove, so this will be your only chance to see the original story.
Also, in an effort to get the word out, I'm offering an incentive for reblogging! If you reblog this post (as text, not a link) you will have the chance to win any 8x12 (or similar size) print from my DA shop for free. You don't need to be following me. On August 1 I will choose one person at random. Thanks so much for your support guys! Hope you enjoy the book!
