Design a Yokai Contest

Hey everyone! I’m holding a contest for Karasu where you can design your own yokai. I will draw the winning designs into the above sketch so they can have dinner with everyone at Urameshiya. Heh ehheh.

Deadline: March 2, 2015 (Monday)

Prizes

1st/2nd place: Spots A and B on the above drawing (and a mini print of the final)

3rd: Postcard and stickers

4th: Postcard

Details

Design a yokai character! Please use existing types so it follows proper Japanese mythology (eg: oni, yuki-onna, etc).

Types of yokai: Yokai.com / Wikipedia

Your design can be in any layout or medium, but it should be in color.

Only humanoid yokai can win 1st and 2nd place. By humanoid I mean has arms, a torso, a head, etc. You’re free to design any shape and size of yokai but the spots in the drawing are best suited for humanoids (spot A is for an average sized figure and Spot B is for a large one).

As you can see, there are already 4 tengu in the drawing. You can design a tengu, but they cannot win 1st/2nd place. On that note, please don’t design a rokurokubi I don’t really have room for two long necks haha.

You can use an existing character as long as the drawing is new and made for the contest.

You can draw your character interacting with Karasu characters if you want!

No monsters from other countries’ (Korea, China, etc) mythologies, please.
